Liberty Common girls track and field runner Isabel Allori keeps putting her name in the record books.
The Eagles senior did it again, running a state-record time of 10 minutes, 4.16 seconds to win the Patriot League 3,200-meter (2-mile) title Saturday in Greeley.
Allori’s time narrowly clipped the former record of 10:06.23, set by Cherry Creek standout Riley Stewart in 2022. Stewart then became the 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year at Stanford.
It was just the fifth time any Colorado high school girls runner has run under 10 minutes, 15 seconds in the 2-mile event.
Allori won the race by more than 50 seconds, beating runner-up Delaney Reuter (Eaton) and bronze medalist Izzy Schimmelpfennig (Timnath).
She’s just the second Fort Collins track & field athlete in the Colorado record books (as of May 4, 2024) , joining Fort Collins High School runner Raymond Bozmans’ 2012 record time of 10.27 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Allori also set a new Colorado personal best in the outdoor event.
