Bear-human conflict and the risks it poses

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, it’s estimated that the state is home to between 17 to 20,000 black bears. While black bears don’t normally pose a threat to humans, improper disposal of food and trash increases the likelihood of dangerous encounters.
