45 year old Jose Perez is facing charges after police say he stole an ambulance outside North Colorado Medical Center early Tuesday. The ambulance was running, which is part of protocol, and authorities were able to track it to 8th Avenue and 26th Street. Perez had just been discharged from the hospital. They put down tire deflation devices which flattened at least one tire. Perez crashed in the backyard of a Greeley home and fled on foot but was arrested in a neighbor’s yard. Police estimate Perez caused about $15,000 worth of damage.
