Flash floods of concern for Alexander Mountain burn scar

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Residents in Larimer County have been dealing with the Alexander Mountain Fire, and now flash flooding is added to the threat.

With a Wednesday, fast-moving storm through Big Thompson Canyon, highway signs posted warnings of possible debris on the road. Thankfully, the storm moved through without dropping a great deal of moisture.

One resident, who was dropping trash into dumpsters set aside by the city, said her home was spared — but it’s been a draining nine days.

“It was frightening. Just frightening,” she said.
