Fort Collins residents awoke to somber news this morning as firefighters responded to a deadly blaze in the 4200 block of Gemstone Lane. After emergency services were called to the site shortly after 6 a.m., the Poudre Fire Authority discovered a deceased individual within the structure. Once the area was deemed safe around 7 a.m., it was confirmed by officials that an investigation into the tragedy was underway. KDVR reports that both the Poudre Fire Authority and Fort Collins Police Services are conducting joint efforts to determine the cause of the fire.
