Windsor Lake is practicing water safety the free way

WINDSOR, Colo. ( KDVR ) — The town of Windsor has placed a priority on water safety and has partnered up with Drennen’s Dreams Foundation to loan free life jackets to visitors of Windsor Lake.

The life jacket loaner station can be found on the south end of the Windsor Lake swim beach. Those participating in water activities are encouraged to borrow a life jacket for as long as they want while on the water but are asked to return it at the end of their day at the lake.

The life jackets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Life jackets save lives,” said Rachael Stefanich, recreation coordinator for Windsor Aquatics, in a release. “This station is an incredible opportunity to work with Drennen’s Dreams Foundations and spread information on water safety and drowning awareness.”

The life jacket loaner station at Windsor Lake is the second location Drennen’s Dreams Foundation has contributed to with the first being at Boyd Lake in Loveland.
