When does pumpkin, apple picking start in Northern Colorado? Here’s a guide.

Get into the fall spirit — and return to Northern Colorado’s agricultural roots — by picking your own pumpkin this season.

At least half a dozen Northern Colorado pumpkin patches — and one orchard — are gearing up for fall. Here’s when you can take your pick of their autumn offerings:

Adam’s Apple Orchard & Country Store

Where: 42135 Weld County Road 43, Ault

Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday

Apple season is in full swing at Adam’s Apple Country Store, with fresh apples available for purchase through the end of October. Due to a poor growing season, public apple picking at Adam’s Apple Orchard will be sparse and likely start sometime in September, according to the orchard. The Bartels Pumpkin Patch

Where: 3424 E. Douglas Road, Fort Collins

Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from Sept. 21 through Oct. 31
