A March 31st trial date is set for a man accused of shooting and killing a woman in Weld County in November of 2022. The Greeley Tribune reports Amos Alaniz appeared in court this week and had to waive his right to a speedy trial to make the 10 days next spring work, after scheduling conflicts for both attorneys and possible witnesses made an earlier trial undoable. He’s charged in the shooting death of 21 year old Hermania Marquez, who was found unresponsive in the backyard of a residence on 24th Street Lane. She was later pronounced dead in what the coroner labeled a case of murder.
