Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter made a bold statement in response to Colorado State’s pregame trash talk.
In 2023, Colorado defeated the Colorado State Rams 43-35 in double overtime. The Buffaloes overcame a late 11-point deficit to come out with the win.
The two teams were slated to meet again in 2024. In the week before the game, Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi said, “We’ll see how far Instagram followers get them.”
Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes have been known to wear flashy clothes, talk a lot of smack, and, in turn, go viral for it.
In the Saturday, September 14 rematch, Colorado dominated Colorado State by a score of 28-9. The Rams had a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, but it was all Buffaloes from then on.
Following the game, the Colorado social media team posted a video that featured Hunter responding to Fowler-Nicolosi.
“Them Instagram followers got us far today, ya hearrrddd,” Hunter said.
