Deion Sanders Faces Backlash for Comments on CSU Quarterback

The longstanding rivalry between Colorado and Colorado State deepened following over the weekend, as Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders put CSU quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi in his sights.

Reporters asked Sanders about the “too small” gesture that Fowler-Nicolosi made toward cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter after a minor collision between the two players near the sideline during the game on Saturday, September 14.

“How stupid is that? This is Travis Hunter. Dude, this is Travis Hunter ,” Sanders said . “Like, who does that? I wouldn’t allow my kids to do that. And y’all know that. And that oughtta be said. But when you allow kids to sit in an interview and talk against us, and you just got beat by 50-something in Week 1. Come on, dawg. Somebody help me here. Am I missing something? Straight up, tell me. I don’t see where that’s done in sports.”

Sanders caught heat on social media for what some believe was hypocrisy on his part considering how vocal he and Buffaloes players, particularly his two sons Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders , have been with opponents during their time at the school.
