The Thunderbirds are coming to Northern Colorado in 2025. Here’s what we know

The Thunderbirds are set to headline the Great Colorado Air Show at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport one year from now.

The air show, starring the Air Force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon , is scheduled for Sept. 20-21, 2025 at the Loveland airport, jointly owned by the cities of Fort Collins and Loveland.

The Thunderbirds have selected the airport for a demonstration and air show, acting airport director Francis Robbins told members of the Northern Colorado Regional Airport Commission on Thursday, and the board voted to authorize participation.

In 2021, the Great Colorado Air Show brought the Blue Angels to the airport, and more than 28,000 people attended.

That show netted about $140,000 for the airport, according to a staff report presented to the commission on Thursday, and a similar windfall is expected for the next event, Robbins said.

The airport and Air Show Network agreed to partner on additional events in order to defray the investments made in traffic studies and event safety for the 2021 show.
