2 killed in crash on US 34 in Greeley

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Westbound U.S. 34 in Greeley remains closed following a deadly two-car rollover crash.

At around 6:45 a.m. Friday, Greeley police were called to the crash on U.S. 34 near Highway 257. According to police, at least three people were ejected from their vehicles.

Several people were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Two people were pronounced dead, Greeley police said.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said east and westbound U.S. 34 were closed between U.S. 34 Business and CO 257 (Greeley). Eastbound lanes reopened to traffic at around 7:40 a.m., but westbound remains closed.

The city of Greeley said the closure is expected to last for multiple hours.

SkyFOX flew over the scene where there was a heavy backup and a lot of debris on the road. It appeared one car rolled into a ditch on the side of the road.
