Highway 34 reopens near Milliken after deadly vehicle crash, rollover

Highway 34 partially reopens after closure in Northern Colorado for deadly vehicle crash, rollover 00:30

Highway 34 was closed for a few hours in both directions near Milliken after a deadly crash and rollover on Friday morning. The crash happened at 6:45 a.m. east of I-25 between US 34 Business and Colorado Highway 257.

Greeley police rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle crash and rollover where multiple people were ejected from one vehicle. Several people were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Two did not survive.

The highway was closed in both directions at 131st Street shortly after the crash on Friday morning. Eastbound lanes of Highway 34 reopened a few hours later followed by westbound lanes about an hour after that.

The CBS News Colorado helicopter flew over the scene on Friday morning which showed a lot of debris and a white pickup truck that appeared to have rolled over several times in a field on the side of the highway.

There were several emergency vehicles on scene. Investigators were trying to determine what happened leading up to the crash.
