Lake Loveland is being closed to swimmers indefinitely, as a result of cuts in the 2025 budget. The Loveland Reporter Herald reports this week, a contractor dropped off a truckload of boulders and rip rap that will be placed on the swim beach, as city officials try to reel in costs. Though it sits in the middle of the city, Lake Loveland is private. The city of Loveland owns the portion of the shoreline where the swim beach is located, but pays the Lake Loveland Home Owners Association (HOA) around $2,000 per year to lease recreation rights.
