Weld County residents can recycle real Christmas trees through the end of the year at the Greeley Organic Waste Center, 1150 25th Ave., Greeley. According to the Greeley Tribune you have to remove decorations and lights from trees before dropping them off, and once dropped off, staff at the waste center will grind up the trees and turn them into compost, reducing landfill waste and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. The organic waste center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays throughout the winter, weather permitting.
