Loveland man jailed after traffic stop leads to foot pursuit, shelter-in-place

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A Loveland man was taken to jail after police said he attempted to flee after a traffic stop, prompting a shelter-in-place in the area.

The Colorado State Patrol said on Monday just before 9 p.m., a trooper stopped a driver near Highway 34 and North Denver Avenue.

CSP said the driver, identified as Mardez Dean, 48, had an active warrant for his arrest issued by the U.S. Marshal’s Office. The trooper told Dean to get out of the vehicle, but CSP said he resisted arrest and fled the scene.
