Upcoming Overnight and Daytime Closures on I-25 Near Mead for Bridge Work as Part of Expansion Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced a series of temporary overnight closures for Interstate 25 and surrounding roads near Mead slated to begin next week, according to a recent update. These traffic disruptions are crucial for bridge deck panel installations and the ongoing work is part of the expansive I-25 North Express Lanes Project, which aims to widen and improve the stretch from Mead to Berthoud.

Closures are scheduled to kick off on March 26 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., shutting down southbound I-25 under Weld County Road (WCR) 34, and this will be followed by additional closures on March 26 and 27 affecting eastbound and westbound WCR 34 and the east Frontage Road at I-25, North of WCR 34 and the northbound I-25 off-ramp, according to CDOT. The interruption will continue with the closure of the southbound I-25 on-ramp from westbound WCR 34 on March 28 at the same nighttime hours, travelers should prepare for reroutes and delays, following detour signs posted by CDOT.

Further disruptions are slated for the following week from April 2 to April 8 in daytime hours, during which WCR 32, under I-25, will be entirely closed off while bridge girders are installed. Drivers will be directed to alternate pathways involving the East I-25 Frontage Road, Mulligan Street, County Road 9.5, Colorado Highway 66, and Weld County Road 7 to navigate around the closed segments, full details and detour routes have been provided by CDOT’s recent announcement…
