Dog dies after Fort Collins fire destroys home

DENVER ( KDVR ) — One person was taken to a hospital and a dog died after a fully involved fire “destroyed” a Fort Collins home.

At around 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, the Poudre Fire Authority posted on X that crews had extinguished a fully involved fire at a manufactured home in the 2500 block of East Harmony Road in southeast Fort Collins.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the department said the fire had destroyed the home and was spreading to a second unit when crews began attacking the flames.

Four people were in the home at the time, and Poudre Fire said they were able to exit on their own. One person was taken to the hospital via ambulance, but the status of their condition is unknown.
