Third arrest in case of burning body discovered in high-traffic Colorado canyon

In an update from the Weld County District Court, a third person has been arrested as a suspect in a recent case related to a body being discovered on fire in Larimer County’s Poudre Canyon.

The body was reportedly found on fire under a bridge near the Stevens Gulch Picnic Area on the morning of April 11, though authorities noted that it is believed the victim died elsewhere with signs pointing to Weld County.

At that time, two people were listed as suspects in the case – 37-year-old Juana Espino, who was arrested as a suspect without issue, and 32-year-old Isaac Valdez, who was arrested as a suspect after allegedly leading law enforcement on a chase, eventually exiting his vehicle with a handgun and getting struck by another vehicle as he attempted to run from the scene on foot.
