One of the busiest streets in Windsor is 7th Street. Thousands of cars must travel along it everyday, whether just in town, or to-and-from Highway 34.
Bridge Replacement in Windsor Requires Closure of Portion of 7th Street
There are three main arteries that take commuters from Highway 34 to Highway 392: Highway 257, County Road 17 (7th Street) and County Road 13 (Colorado Boulevard.) For three months, 7th Street will be closed near Eastman Park Drive.
The heavily-traveled roundabout at Eastman Park Drive and 7th Street in Windsor has been in place since 2014.
According to the Town Windsor, where 7th Street bridge that goes over the Cache la Poudre river will be replaced, and hopefully won’t have to be replaced again for about another 20 years. The replacement project is scheduled to run from the end of May (when the school year in Windsor is finished) through the month of August.
What Part of 7th Street in Windsor Will Be Closed for Three Months?
To replace the bridge, the town will be closing to traffic a small section of 7th, between Eastman Park Drive and Laku Lake Road. Also the trail that runs under the bridge will be closed to bike/pedestrian traffic until the project is completed.
While Highway 257 and County Road 13 will both be open, this closure, right in the middle of town, is going to be a big headache for a lot of people. Not only residents in that area will be effected, but folks who need to get to Eastman Park, the Eastman Park River Experience and the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church…
