KEENESBURG, Colo. — A Facebook post from Weld County’s Wild Animal Sanctuary over the weekend has prompted at least a dozen phone calls and tips to Steve On Your Side from people concerned about the facility’s future.
The post accuses nearby landowners of “blatantly disregarding” a contract they signed with the sanctuary that puts guardrails on the development of a neighborhood adjacent to the property in Keenesburg. The sanctuary provided a copy of that contract to Steve On Your Side.
A review of the covenant for the new eight-lot neighborhood shows it abides by most of the terms of that agreement and excludes only one that would be disallowed by state law…
