The Northern Colorado track and field team kicked off the Big Sky Outdoor Championships in Sacramento with impressive performances from Ryan Pollyea, Jameson Rembert, and Ciara Piffarerio on Day 1. Pollyea excelled in the men’s decathlon, securing a second-place finish in the 400m and third in the 100m. Rembert also stood out in the decathlon, finishing second in shot put and sixth in high jump. Piffarerio performed strongly in the women’s heptathlon, highlighted by a solid eighth-place finish in high jump. The competition continues tomorrow with the conclusion of combined events and the beginning of individual races.
