Veterans Community Project in Longmont, Colorado Gives Vets Homes
Having a brother who’s an Army Veteran, I know how hard it can be for them. My brother, however, has never been homeless. There are upwards of 1,000 homeless Veterans in Colorado; in Longmont, this village is doing what they can to bring that number down.
I hadn’t heard of the Veterans Community Project in Longmont until 9News did a story how the village was nearly complete in May of 2025. I did my own research on them and found that they are one of only six in whole country.
Began in 2016 by a group of Combat Veterans in Kansas City, Veterans Community Project works to help Veterans achieve self-sufficiency, and housing stability, regardless of discharge status.
I would have thought that, sure, this is a local chapter of a national endeavor that has dozens and dozens of these communities in America. Though there are only six, it’s a great organization, and it’s wonderful that Colorado has one of their villages.
Longmont Tiny Homes Village for Veterans Has 26 Homes
Near the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont, you’ll find this little village of tiny homes specifically for Veterans that had been homeless.
