Fort Collins Braces for Summer of Detours Amidst Extensive Infrastructure Projects

Fort Collins residents can expect a flurry of detours this summer as the city embarks on an ambitious schedule of infrastructure improvements. According to the City of Fort Collins, major road and trail closures will commence in June and continue through July, affecting daily commutes and recreational activities.

The Power Trail is closing its path between Keenland Drive and East Trilby Road until August for the construction of the new Siphon Overpass. The intended overpass is set to facilitate connectivity to the Mail Creek Trail. “Use Keenland → Lemay Avenue → Southridge Greens,” cites the City’s detour recommendation, as per the City of Fort Collins. The exact date for reopening remains to be determined.

Adding to the congestion, Laporte Avenue will be inaccessible at Meldrum Street until August 1 due to sewer line replacement work. Travelers are advised to seek alternative routes, with westbound traffic redirected via Sherwood Street to Maple Street or Mountain Avenue and eastbound via Mason Street to Maple or Mountain.
