From fireworks to symphonic music, there will be “something for everyone” at Longmont’s Fourth of July party this year, according to a city announcement.
The festivities will begin with the Fourth of July concert at Roosevelt Park (700 Longs Peak Ave.), which will include a picnic contest, performances by the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and Longmont Chorale, cannon firings, and more. Registration for the picnic contest begins at 11 a.m. and the musical performances and other special programming will run from 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Not long after the concert in the park concludes, the street party will begin on Emery Street from First to Third Avenues. Beginning at 5 p.m. and concluding at 11 p.m., the street party will feature three live music stages, carnival games, inflatables for kids, throwing axes for adults, food, drinks, and more. The street party area will provide “more space to get the best views of the drone and fireworks shows,” the announcement said…
