Take a Swing at Fun: Windsor Getting 2nd Golf Simulator Bar

Colorado golf courses can be fun, but they also cater to serious golfers and can be expensive. Golf simulator bars, however, bring “the links” to regular folks looking for some fun, as well as serious golfers keeping their skills up.

Second Golf Simulator Bar Coming to Windsor, Colorado

I’m the kind of guy that’s much better at watching golf than playing golf. I do enjoy playing disc golf, but not many people think of it as “a lot like golf,” so I try not to mention it when “real” golf comes up.

As of the summer of 2025, Windsor has four golf courses: Ptarmigan which opened in 1987, Pelican Lakes which opened in 1999, Highland Meadows which opened in 2004, and RainDance which opened in 2022.

When Loveland’s first (and currently only) golf simulator bar opened I was one of the first to check it out with a buddy who golfs; I was not very good. If a golf simulator is a way to see if a person has the aptitude for it, It was clear that I do not. It was still a fun time, though.

Windsor has had a golf simulator bar for many years, at The Sand Bar, at Pelican Lakes Resort & Golf. As the bar is open to the public, a coworker and I used to have a couple of beers after work there, watching folks in their bays. Again, I’m great at watching golf…
