Mexican food chain eyeing Fort Collins’ long-vacant Larkburger location

At last, Fort Collins’ long-vacant Larkburger space may be getting a new tenant.

Chipotle Mexican Grill applied for a sign permit at 2539 S. College Ave., Unit 101, on June 25, city records show. The unit was formerly home to Larkburger before it was closed and seized over unpaid taxes in 2019. The restaurant space has sat vacant since.

It is located directly southeast of Midtown Fort Collins’ new King Soopers Marketplace, which opened in January. Its strip of once-vacant units have since started to fill in.
