DENVER (KDVR) — Loveland police took to social media on Sunday to address rumors that were circulating about how the police department had operated during the holiday.
The Loveland Police Department said that rumors and misconceptions had been spreading over the weekend, and said that it wanted to address them to ensure community trust remains strong.

“One rumor that circulated over the Fourth of July weekend was that our department was flying drones to monitor community celebrations. That claim is false,” the Loveland Police Department said online. “While it’s true a drone was deployed that evening, it was being used to assist in locating individuals who had unlawfully fled the scene of a serious traffic crash.”
