Longmont Animal Control responded to a call for a bear in a resident’s backyard at 9:30 a.m. on July 10 in the area of Hover Street and Third Avenue, according to Rogelio Mares, the City of Longmont’s public information officer.
“Colorado Parks and Wildlife was notified and was out on location, they are monitoring the bear,” Mares said in an email at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, adding that the incident occurred in a “quiet part of town.”
