Former Greeley resident Timothy Mattox’s decision to pull off Interstate 70 and take a nap on Sept. 7 might have, under different circumstances, been considered a totally normal impulse.
But Mattox, 50, chose to sleep in the sagebrush alongside the highway, on top of a handgun, next to a stolen motorcycle. On Wednesday, the decision earned him a trip to the Colorado Department of Corrections.
