Ranger pulls “actively drowning” woman from water at popular Colorado reservoir

A woman’s life was saved at Fort Collins-area Horsetooth Reservoir on Wednesday.

According to a press release from Poudre Fire Authority, rescuers were dispatched to the popular water recreation area at about 11:16 a.m. after receiving a report about a woman who had fallen into the water while stand-up paddleboarding. At least 100 yards from shore, the woman was separated from her board and was seen “going under the water,” according to witnesses.

Rescue crews sprang into action, launching a boat to reach the woman as quickly as possible…
