FRUITA, Colo. (KREX) – A Denver man, who was arrested in March 2024 in Fruita, was sentenced to nearly 50 years in prison as part of his role in a Northern Colorado drug trafficking ring, according to the 19th Judicial District Office in Weld County.
Miguel Gutierrez-Heredia was given the maximum sentence of 48 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections earlier this week. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell or distribute fentanyl – more than 50 grams, special offender – introducing or importing to Colorado and possession with intent to sell or distribute methamphetamine – more than 14 grams but less than 225 grams.
Gutierrez-Heredia was pulled over by Colorado State Patrol after he was caught going 93 miles per hour in a 75-mph speed zone. At the time of the stop, he was under investigation in Northern Colorado and law enforcement was tracking his whereabouts…
