Having a fun night out in Fort Collins will see the return of a place that went away in 2022. Coloradans that love pool, beer and food are ready for the comeback of Poolside.
New Owners, Failed Deal, Bring Back Beloved Pool Hall to Old Town Fort Collins
When one door closes, another opens, right? That seems to be the case with Old Town getting back that great pool hall/bar. A couple of years after Poolside closed, it was announced that a Korean Fried Chicken spot and Visit Fort Collins would be taking over that spot.
It turns out, though Visit Fort Collins did come in, the Korean Fried Chicken deal fell through. With that, according to the Coloradoan, the new owner of Coopersmith’s (who took over in 2024) felt that Poolside should just reopen.
Fun Times Return to Old Town Square Back at ‘Square One’
Having lived in Northern Colorado nearly my entire life, I’d been into Poolside a lot of times. My brother and I would often have our own little “brothers tournaments” on their tables while having a few of Coopersmith’s beers. We were just a couple of the tens of thousands of folks that had been through their doors over the years.
According to the Coloradoan, the “new” Poolside will probably resemble the old Poolside, only smaller due to Visit Fort Collins having taken over a part of the former space. They’ll have pizza, beer, pool tables, and shuffleboard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Skeech table there, too…
