22-year-old’s vehicle found in Jackson County, owner last seen in Fort Collins: CBI

DENVER (KDVR) — A missing 22-year-old’s vehicle has been found in Jackson County, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, which posted an endangered missing alert for him Friday.

Derek Pettigrew, 22, was last seen leaving the Fort Collins area on July 15 at about 9 p.m. in a blue 2015 Subaru Station Wagon with the license plate of JOS-519. The vehicle was found unoccupied on Highway 127 in Jackson County at milepost 6.

Police initially reported that the truck was found on Highway 147 in Jackson County, but corrected the location. Highway 127 is near the border of Colorado and Wyoming, with milepost 6 near the intersection with Forest Service Road 895 and near Pinkham Mountain.
