Tragic Car Accident in Fort Collins Leaves Four Seriously Injured, Police Investigate Cause

A serious car accident left multiple people injured in Fort Collins last night. The Fort Collins Police were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash that occurred in the 2200 block of South Overland Trail around 10:57 pm, according to the City of Fort Collins. They discovered a 2019 Genesis G70 that had veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Tragically, inside were five occupants, four suffered life-threatening or serious injuries requiring urgent care.

The accident’s impact was such that first responders had to extricate several individuals from the wreck. The victims were then swiftly taken to local hospitals for treatment. To fully piece together the tragic circumstances of the accident, the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team, specializing in collision reconstruction and scene handling, took over the investigation.

Initial findings by the Fort Collins Police suggest that the Genesis was traveling southbound on South Overland Trail. Following a U-turn at County Road 42C, the vehicle headed north before it careened off the roadway, causing the catastrophic collision with a tree.
