Fort Collins restaurants: Burger chain closes East Mulberry Street location after 40 years

A burger chain has shuttered its longstanding — and last — location in Fort Collins.

Carl’s Jr. closed its restaurant at 421 Cowan St. Its last day in business was July 28, general manager Taylor Barraza confirmed.

Its building, located near the intersection of East Mulberry Street and Riverside Avenue, was built in 1984 and opened as a Hardee’s restaurant shortly after, according to Larimer County property records and Fort Collins city directories…
