DENVER (KDVR) — The Weld RE-4 School District in the Town of Windsor announced Thursday that it will be a “personal communication device-free district” for students, starting with the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
The school district said students will be allowed to keep their cellphones on them during the school day but will only be able to use them on district property, on a district vehicle or at a district-sponsored activity or event “in alignment with the expectations.”
Some of those expectations include no photographing or videoing and having cellphones powered off in specific school settings based on grade level, which the district detailed further on its website.
