Loveland Loses Only Baskin-Robbins

The  ice cream shops in Colorado must number in the hundreds, maybe that’s why a longtime spot for a scoop closed after so many years.

King Soopers Expansion in Loveland Meant Moving Baskin Robbins

In 2014, the King Soopers located in the Orchards Shopping Center in north Loveland off of 29th Street went through a major expansion. With that, several shops just west of King Soopers, including Baskin-Robbins, moved or closed.

That Baskin-Robbins had been on that west corner for many years; I remember hitting them up in my youth in Loveland, in the 80s. Baskin-Robbins was a big deal; the variety of flavors all in one spot was great. Mom could get her pistachio, I could get vanilla, my brother could get Rocky Road.

After Decades, Loveland’s Only Baskin-Robbins Got a New Location

That Baskin-Robbins ended up on the southeast side of the shopping center; not a terrible location, but not “prime” either. Parking was a lot easier, I can tell you that; when you wanted to bring a bunch of kids, that new spot had plenty of parking spaces.

Having gotten older, and not having kids, I hadn’t been to Loveland’s only Baskin-Robbins in many, many years, though I knew it was there. That was until July of 2025, when I found out that the shop had closed down…
