The City of Longmont announced this week that the city manager is accepting applications until September 5 for the Longmont Department of Public Safety Professional Standards Review Panel, which “reviews highly confidential information, including internal investigations and allegations of misconduct, and makes findings to the public safety chief,” according to the city.
The city said that the review panel is made up of five Longmont citizens, each of whom is a qualified elector of the city who serves without compensation. Longmont Police Services said that this citizen review panel is an “excellent reflection” of its motto, “policing in partnership with the people.”
