Colorado Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Denver, Boulder, Pueblo Under Watch 1 p.m. Until 8 p.m. Sunday Evening

Denver, Colo. – Much of Colorado is bracing for dangerous weather through Sunday evening, as a Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for 29 counties until 8 p.m. MDT. The watch covers a wide swath from the northern Front Range through the eastern plains, including major population centers such as Denver, Boulder, Pueblo, and Fort Collins. Large hail, damaging winds up to 70 mph, and frequent lightning are possible.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., storms will continue to develop and move eastward this afternoon and evening, fueled by hot, unstable air. The threat extends into parts of Kansas, Nebraska, and northeastern New Mexico, including Cheyenne County, KS; Dundy County, NE; and Colfax and Union counties in NM.

Drivers along I-25 and I-70 should prepare for rapidly changing conditions, reduced visibility in heavy rain, and potential road flooding. Outdoor events may need to be postponed, and residents are urged to move indoors at the first sign of thunder…
