On July 30 at 9:05 a.m., a motorcycle crashed at the intersection of Ute Highway (Highway 66) and Hover Street, and a male motorcycle driver was killed. The Longmont Police Department announced on August 9 that it is still looking for additional witnesses to the crash in order to assist in the investigation.
According to Longmont Public Safety, the motorcycle was an Orange 2014 Yamaha. The rider was wearing a riding jacket and helmet safety gear. The police said that they are seeking witnesses who observed the collision or saw this motorcyclist before the incident or may have video taken in the area with the motorcycle in it.
“The Longmont Police [want to]… ensure we have spoken with all parties who may have witnessed this incident,” said Longmont Public Safety Public Information Officer Rogelio Mares. “When investigating a fatal car accident, officers seek a combination of evidence to reconstruct the events leading up to the collision and determine contributing factors and responsibility. Officers examine road conditions, the environment, physical evidence, photographs, measurements, and surveillance footage. Officers also interview all parties involved in the accident and anyone who witnessed the crash, heard anything, or observed the driving behavior of the involved parties before the crash.”…
