A man was apprehended in Weld County yesterday morning as a felony murder suspect connected to a March 20 incident in El Paso County, Texas. Members of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) assisted a U.S. Marshals fugitive task force in locating and arresting the suspect, who was found in a mobile home in Dacono.
23-year-old Angel Lozano was booked into the Weld County Jail on August 11 in connection to the Texas warrant related to shots fired, aggravated assault, and the murder of 26-year-old Aaron Villa. The victim died from multiple gunshot wounds after being transported to the hospital following the incident on March 20. A warrant was issued for Lozano’s arrest on July 24 after the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Texas Rangers identified him as the suspect.
The El Paso division of the U.S. Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) helped with the investigation and believed Lozano fled Texas following the incident. COVOTF determined Lozano was probably staying near Highway 52 and Glen Creighton Drive in a Dacono mobile home park…
