Unprecedented Late-Summer Storm Slams Northern Colorado

Did you happen to get with a wild thunderstorm this weekend in Northern Colorado? Sunday, August 10, was quite a crazy ride for the weather. The day started really nicely, and it felt like fall was finally starting to peek its head out from the sweltering heat.

By the late afternoon, all of that changed. I just got finished mowing the lawn and the dark storm clouds started rolling in. Moments later, I looked to the southwest and saw an ominous sight.

I started to scramble to move things around in my garage to pull my truck in, because you never know if a storm can produce damaging hail in Colorado, and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Moments after I pulled the truck into the garage, the skies unleashed a massive amount of rain.
