A former grocery store in Loveland looks to become something completely different. It will be good to see the old Albertsons finally have something inside it, besides being one of Colorado’s Spirit Halloween spots.
What’s the History of That ‘Old Blue Roof Building’ in Loveland, Colorado?
The currently empty building at 1325 East Eisenhower Boulevard in Loveland first opened as an ALCO, which was like a Kmart or Walmart, back in the day.
In 1990 it became an County Market grocery store which was open for 10 years before Albertsons took it over in 2000. Albertsons shut down that store in 2006, and its been (mostly) a “big empty” since then.
Having grown up in Loveland and currently living in Downtown Loveland, I’ve driven passed that old building tens of thousands of times, like a lot of other Lovelanders. It’s hard to see it and not wonder “What the heck are they going to do with it?”…
