Armed barricade suspect faces more charges after animal traps discovered: Sheriff’s office

DENVER (KDVR) — A man is facing additional felony charges related to an armed barricade incident in Fort Collins last week, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

The incident started around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, in northwest Fort Collins. The sheriff’s office said that first responders spent 13 hours working to get the man, identified as Kevin Lee Walker, 55, out of the house safely.

The sheriff’s office said that Walker had been told that he was being evicted from the home he was renting, but he refused to comply. When deputies tried to contact him, they found that the doors and windows had been boarded up and locked to prevent entry.

Deputies used tools to enter, per court order, and found Walker “pointing a long gun and threatening to kill them,” the sheriff’s office said. The deputies took cover outside and waited for more resources to arrive…
