‘Real live dinosaur’: Weld County resident speaks of finding, capturing emu

DENVER (KDVR) — A Weld County resident who helped Animal Control Officers find and capture a loose emu speaks about the experience and meeting the bird’s owner.

On Friday, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office asked the public if anyone had possibly lost their emu, as officers believed it “may be someone’s pet.”

The sheriff’s office said that its officers received a report of a possible loose emu in the Camfield area and that a county resident agreed to assist.
