GREELEY, Colo. (KDVR) — A Greeley City Council meeting got heated earlier this week and ended with a police report being filed.
The meeting at the City Center South building drew a sizeable crowd for public comment on the Catalyst & Cascadia Greeley West project. Greeley Police officers were also present in the council chambers.
Voters ask Greeley council for input on $1.1B entertainment district project
The two-part project is going to be an entertainment district that is going to cost about $832 million, which will go towards a professional sports arena, a year-round indoor waterpark and a privately-owned residential and commercial area called Cascadia.
During public comment, rules were set to refrain from applause or booing; however, some speakers were interrupted by people yelling from the crowd. “We’re tired of it,” one woman yelled, as the captain of the Colorado Eagles hockey team was speaking in favor of the project…
