How Far Does ‘Trick-Or-Treating’ Go Back in the USA?

According to SmithsonianMag.com, though the premise of getting treats from strangers in exchange for not pulling some “stunt” goes back centuries ago to Europe, “Trick-Or-Treating” became coined in the U.S. in Michigan in the late 1920s. Over 100 years later, kids of all ages across America have fun getting costumed up and having fun.
