DENVER (KDVR) — A woman who was standing trial for second-degree murder related to the stabbing death of her father was found not guilty by a jury on Wednesday night.
Heather Cushman, of Loveland, was arrested by the Loveland Police Department on Sept. 9, 2024, after they responded to a residence on East 6th Street when she reported that she had stabbed her father, John “Clint” Cushman, in his home.

At the address, police found Clint dead with multiple stab wounds.
Colorado’s 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said that in a seven-day jury trial that started on Sept. 2, Cushman’s lawyers did not argue that Heather was involved in Clint’s death; instead, they argued that Heather had acted in self-defense.
