Loveland To Close South Railroad Facility Shelter Monday

Loveland’s South Railroad Facility is closing Monday, ending a 2½ year experiment with overnight shelter. Council members gave the city manager’s office informal direction in February to wind it down, and staff announced the official closure date in July. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, the South Railroad Facility was opened in April 2023, nearly a year after the City Council in May 2022 enacted an emergency ordinance prohibiting unauthorized camping on public property.
